6 Weeks Later . . .

I can't believe it has been six weeks since my last post! Way too long. Here is what has been going on:

Shower in Columbia with my side of the family: It was so wonderful to see mom, the aunts, grandmas, sisters, and cousins, and to celebrate with them! :) We received so many wonderful gifts! - blankets, a travel system, a high chair, and so many other essentials for baby! Thank you Jackie, Shannon, and Mom for hosting the shower, and thank you to the rest of the fam for celebrating with us!

Trip to KC to see Kisha and the boys: It was a wonderful trip up with Shannon. When we got there, we had dinner with Kisha, Eddie, Jet, and Cash, and then loaded down the van with all the baby stuff that the boys have outgrown. Thanks so much Kisha! :)

The rest of Spring Break: Steve painted the nursery, and I added all of the things from the shower and Kisha to the room. It was finally starting to look like a baby's room instead of a storage area. :)

Shower in Dixon with Steve's side of the fam: This was a really fun day! We had a co-shower with Steve's cousin. It was two baby showers and a family reunion all in one! I haven't seen a lot of them since the wedding shower in Dixon, so it was good to see everyone again. We got a lot of adorable clothes for baby! They are all washed up and in the dresser waiting for baby to get here. Thanks for hosting the shower Cindy! We had such a great time! :)

Shower in Springfield with friends: Kayce and Ben hosted this fun event! The men enjoyed a nice afternoon of Botche (is that how you spell it?) Ball and grilling out, while the ladies played shower games, opened presents, and ate some snacks and delicious cake. After this shower, I think we are all set for baby! We got some sheets, bibs, and bottles,just to name a few things. Thank you friends for hosting and celebrating baby's future arrival with us!

Maternity Pictures: Shannon has taken a few maternity pictures for me. She is a wonderful photographer and I will post a couple soon. :)

Doctor Appointments and Baby: I am almost finished with my bi-weekly appointments. I go back to the doctor this Friday and after that, I will go weekly until baby arrives. I have read that most first-time moms go into labor at 41 week, so it should be around 6 weeks or less until baby arrives. We are trying to be patient until then, but it is not easy. Steve and I have both caught ourselves standing in the doorway of the nursery and imagining what it will be like when he gets here. It is so exciting to think about. Until then, we are enjoying our time together. Baby continues to move around all the time and is growing so fast, that I wonder how I can get any bigger!

Looking back over the past couple of weeks reminds me of how truly blessed Steve and I are. We are overwhelmed by your love and support and hope that one day we can be there for you like you all have been there for us. Thank you for your love, encouragement, support, and prayers. We love you all so much!!
